Membership increases during 2008-09 Rotary year

In a year of economic havoc that rocked global markets and shook consumer confidence, Rotary International's most important asset – its members – steadily grew.
As of 30 June, the end of the 2008-09 RI year, there were 1,234,527 members in 33,790 Rotary clubs. That's an increase of 3,044 members and 520 clubs from the previous year.
