Doug D.'s Foundation minute noted that the Polio Plus networks can be mobilized for other health emergencies, and have been for such events as the South Asia tsunami and Pakistani floods..  All examples of your EREY (Every Rotarian Every Year $100) at work.
Cato reminded us next Tuesday is Bristol Lodge lunch 3:00-5:00. Send a   contribution to our Rotary Endowment to help pay for the food.
Peter Golden described the Bandey-Heffler exchange with an English district.  If you host a visiting English couple this fall for four days and three nights, you will be eligible for the return visit in 2017--2 weeks in England and all you pay are airfare and your incidentals.  Great way to make new friends and have a wonderful trip.  Ask anyone who's gone (Dick L. has).  If interested, contact Peter at psg@goldenpr.com.  Dates this fall are 9/29--10/12.

Guest Speaker
Sharon introduced Ben Elliot, a farmer-chef.  Ben has an extensive career in being a chef at such places as Locke-Ober, No. 9 Park, Hi-Rise Bakery and Formaggio Kitchen.  He described the rigors and joys of being a chef, and how   he left the field to spend more time with his children.  He now runs the family farm in Concord and will be opening the Saltbox Farm Restaurant in West Concord, in the former Concord Outfitters spot.  They will feature prepared foods to go, and  have 15 seats for casual dine-in.  The emphasis will be on Catering, Classes and local, seasonable food.  Sign up for their newsletter at saltboxfarmconcord.com.
