How many bands will be playing at the Octoberfest on October 22nd?
Answer was not answered correctly even though fliers on all tables clearly indicated 5 bands will be playing.
Happy or Sad Fines:
- Frank Rigg paid $5 since the Patriots won.
- Rosario Rizzo and Sharon Spalding celebrating Sean Smith for being at the Colonial Inn for 1 year.
- Dave Robertson for the Walk for Hospice event, other walkers are welcomed to join.
- Steve Verrill for all the farmers surviving the drought. Also for his farm’s upcoming Stone Soup Dinner.
- Sean Smith for celebrating his daughter’s, Kayla’s, birthday, Sept 11th, 2001.
- Ruth Armknecht for returning from another trip to China.
- Suzanne Greenough for all the great videos created for the club by Steve Kirk.
Announcements:
- Steve Kirk announced the meeting with Governor Baker on September 27th at the Bedford Glen Hotel at 5pm. We will be having the Tuesday morning meeting that week but we will not have the Thursday luncheon meeting on September 29th.
- On September 13th, fellow Rotarians John Dow, June Grace, Steve Kirk, and others served a great meal at Bristol Lodge. 50 people were served.
- Thank you cards were received from students who received scholarships from Concord Rotary.
- Steve K. showed a short video with Bono supporting the actions of Rotarians. He promised to have a version of the Star Spangled Banner as performed by KISS next week.
- Octoberfest is October 22nd at Verrill Farm. We are seeking TIPS certified bartenders to work the event.
Program: Dr. Wasseem Attar, DMD, a fellow Rotarian and a dentist at Carlisle Dental Associates, presented a program on general and cosmetic dentistry. He stresses the importance of proper oral hygiene to benefit overall health of the individual.
Door Prize: Won by Heather Mahoney - she donated the $20 back to Rotary!
