PASSING THE GAVEL

At the Installation Banquet June 22 at Nashawtuc Country Club, members thanked Sharon Spaulding for her outstanding year as President in which the Club was named Club of the Year, Gold, for District 7910. Sharon, in turn, thanked everyone for their support throughout the year with special recognition to Peter Mahler as Chair of Special Projects, Steve Levitsky as Chair of Polio Plus and Karl Kussin, as recipient of the annual Richard L. Hale Award. Incoming President for 2016-2017 Steve Kirk met with a round of applause as he took over the responsibilities of the office. In his remarks, Steve described his passion for serving others, and how that will inspire him in guiding the club to continue its engagement in local and international projects. The 2016-2017 officers and directors (listed in the right column here) were installed, and the evening ended with an engaging slide presentation of Sharon's year created by Susan Dee Johnson.
